Self-Paced Course – Difficult Board Chair or Member
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS COURSE?
To reestablish the balance of power in the presence of a difficult board chair or member with Robert's Rules
$47 for 30-day enrollment. To register a group, contact our office here.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Although we wish things were different, sometimes members of our nonprofit boards or city councils—or even the chair or mayor—do not understand their role. They can complicate meetings, making them less effective. This course covers the motions, tips, and guidelines provided by Robert’s Rules of Order to deal with and manage a difficult board chair or member.
AFTER TAKING THIS COURSE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO
- Apply the principle that group authority is more significant than any one individual, even the chair.
- Sanction a board member whose actions are harmful to the board.
- Take the right steps when a chair oversteps their authority.
THE COURSE CONTAINS
- a recorded video – 65 minutes
- PDFs giving key content
- reference PDFS and blog entries
